Tucson Toros fall to Senators 2-1 at MSBL WS

Men's Senior Baseball League World Series

65-and-over Cactus 1 Division

Rudy Duarte, from the Tucson Old Pueblo Club, pitched nine solid innings today in Peoria, allowing just two runs, unfortunately the Tucson Toros scored just one run and the Sacramento Senators get the win 2-1 at the MSBL World Series.

The Toros led all the way, but the Senators scored both of their runs in the bottom of the ninth inning -- a walk-off win.

The Senators improve to 3-2, while the Toros end up 2-3 in the five round-robin games and both teams now await their fate for the playoffs. The Cactus 1 and Cactus 2 divisions will now combine their won-loss records to discover the six of the 12-team field that will move on to tomorrow.

Willie Lawrence, the fastest Toro, scored the only run today for the Tucson team. As for the boys from the Tucson Old Timers, Mike Dawson supplied the only hit among the five players -- a clean single up the middle. Dawson also walked once and Tim Tolson dropped down a successful sacrifice bunt.

Great game guys! A close one.
