Men's Senior Baseball League World Series

65-and-over Cactus division playoffs

It's all over for the Tucson Toros as they bow out in the first round of the playoffs at the Men's Senior Baseball League World Series in Goodyear this morning, losing 17-1 to the Benbrook Cubs.

The Toros finish 2-4 at this year's senior World Series and now look forward to October/2021 and the 34th MSBL World Series.

"We got hammered," said Mike Dawson, a member of the 60-and-over Tucson Old Timers, who play year around at Udall Park in Tucson. John Mathews, Ken Nebesny, Tim Tolson, Joe Opocensky, also with the TOTS, will be heading back home today.

Today only one run was scored and it was Nebesny who crossed the plate and Dawson provided a clean single to knock in his teammate.

There's still plenty of baseball to be played at Udall Park.

Good try, guys.
