MLB 2020 World Series
The strange play in Game 4
Tampa Bay scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to edge the LA Dodgers 8-7 and even the World Series at two games apiece.
The unlikely hero: Brett Phillips.
Inserted as a pinch runner earlier in the game, Phillips now found himself at bat with two outs, two runners on base and his team down a run. What does he do? He lifts a bloop single to right-center.
Kevin Kiermaier scores from second base and Randy Arozarena flew around the bases and headed home when centerfielder Chris Taylor juggled the ball. Taylor picked up the ball and threw to first baseman, Max Muncy, who then threw home.
The play is not over yet, sports fans!
Arozarena takes a tumble, picks himself up and starts to go back to third, but Muncy's throw was to the right of catcher Will Smith, who took his eye off the ball. The ball trickles away. Arozarena changes direction, picks up some steam and finally dives safely in to home with the winning run.
What a game, what a play and what a series.
