Ironwood Ridge Freshmen 37 Tucson High 14
Ironwood Ridge High School Freshmen Football
Grandson Jadon Price and the rest of the Nighthawks' starters took most of the night off as the Ironwood Ridge Freshmen rolled over Tucson High 37-14 tonight at the Nighthawks' field.
Price rushed for 45 yards on just six carries in the first half. He also hauled in a pass on a two-point conversion and then spent the rest of the night on the sideline as the Nighthawks' coach cleared the bench in the final twenty minutes of regulation -- while a disgruntled Grandpa Price sat in the bleachers, wishing the score was a little closer.
Ironwood Ridge remains unbeaten and improves to 5-0 on the season and now prepare for their next encounter at Mountain View High School next Thursday. The Nighthawks have beaten Cienega, Marana, Canyon del Oro, Sahuaro and Tucson High. Ironwood Ridge will close out its season with games against Salpointe and Vista Grande.
