Cardinals use the home run ball to even NLCS

National League Championship Series

The St. Louis Cardinals belted four home runs tonight at Busch Stadium -- including a walk-off solo shot by second baseman Kolten Wong in the bottom of the ninth inning to grab a 5-4 win and even the NLCS at a game apiece.

Matt Carpenter, Oscar Taveras and Matt Adams also homered for the Cardinals. St. Louis, on the verge of losing the first two games of the  NLCS at home, needed all four round-trippers to get the job done. The Cardinals won the game tonight but they may have lost their all-star catcher Yadier Molina, who strained an oblique muscle in the sixth inning.

The series continues in San Francisco on Tuesday.
