The Arizona Scorpions banged out 25 hits today in Goodyear in a third-round game of the Men's Senior Baseball League World Series and routed Tri Valley of San Francisco 24-4.

The Tucson connection consisting of Arnie White, Pigpen Price, Jeff Helzel, Eddie Eckert, Ron Petersen and Chico Bigham collected 16 of the 25 hits. White went 5 for 5 today, while Price went 4 for 5 and scored five times. Helzel, the Scorpions cleanup batter, had three hits and six RBIs. Eckert went 2 for 4, Petersen 1 for 3 and Bigham 1 for 3.

Petersen, a lefty, pitched six innings and picked up the win as the Scorpions improved to 1-2 at the senior World Series. The Arizona Scorpions will go after their second win on Wednesday when they take on Dodgertown at 10 a.m. at the Arizona Diamondbacks' training facility in Scottsdale.
