Daliege, Thompson top TOTS' hitters in September

Bob Daliege and Doc Thompson were the leading hitters in the 60-and-over Tucson Old Timers (TOTS) baseball club for the month of September. Daliege, who played in eight games, collected the most hits with a 13 for 24 performance and a .542 batting average, while Thompson, who played in seven games, went a blistering 12 for 18 for a .667 clip.
Thompson was the top RBI man for the month with 13, while Tim Tolson finished second in runs-batted-in with 12 and Daliege was third with 11.
Other notable hitting performances included: Ted Davis (five games, 10 for 14, a .714 average), Ron Petersen (six games, 11 for 17, a .647 average), Joe Opocensky (four games, 5 for 8, a .625 average -- including two doubles and a triple) and Tolson (seven games, 11 for 18, a .611 average -- including four doubles).
