Team White holds on for a 11-9 win at Udall

Tucson Old Timers (TOTS)

60-and-over baseball

Both teams had their hitting shoes on today at Udall Park during a 60-and-over Tucson Old Timers game.

In the end, Team White holds on to edge Team Blue 11-9.

David Byars went 3 for 3 and Pigpen Price went 3 for 4 and drove in three runs for Team White, while Reed Palmer ripped four hits in four trips to the plate -- including an RBI-double in the seventh inning for Team Blue. Palmer knocked in a game-high four runs.

Unfortunately, Team Blue had cut into Team White's lead with two runs in the seventh but ended up stranding two runners as the final out of the game turned out to be a force out at second base.

Arnie White pitched all seven innings for Team White and picked up the win, while Chuck Sabalos, who normally catches, tried his luck on the mound today and was saddled with the loss.

The TOTS will back in action on Monday. Game time: 10 a.m.
