JC Cloney wasn't sharp, but it didn't matter as Arizona ripped Hartford 21-5 in the opening game of a three-game series at Hi Corbett Field tonight.

Cloney (4-0) hurled five innings, allowed three earned runs, struck out two and didn't walk a batter. He left the game with the Wildcats up 14-4. Arizona put up a seven-spot in the eighth inning for good measure.

Arizona banged out 18 hits and Alfonso Rivas hit a two-run homer in the fourth inning.

The Wildcats improve to 11-2 and continue the series with the Hawks on Saturday and Sunday.
