60-and-over baseball
Team White scored five runs and took advantage of four errors to edge Team Blue 5-4 today in a hot and dusty 60-and-over Tucson Old Timers game at Udall Park.
Doc Thompson picked up the win and worked his way out of jam in the last inning when Team Blue scored two runs and had the tying run and the go ahead run on base with two outs.
Thompson quickly got ahead of Pigpen Price and with the count at 1-2 coaxed Price into a groundout to second base to end the game.
Tim Boyd went the distance for Team Blue and was saddled with the loss.
The TOTS will close out this week's action with a game on Friday. Game time 9 a.m.
