Arizona stays alive at CWS


College World Series





Arizona hit safely 14 times and Cameron Ming came on in relief of injured starter Nathan Bannister and pitched five strong innings as Arizona stays alive at the College World Series in Omaha today with a 9-3 win over previously unbeaten Oklahoma State.

Zach Gibbons went 3 for 5 and drove in two runs for the Wildcats.

Bannister left after 2 2/3 innings with an undisclosed injury. He had struck out five and retired eight of the nine batters he faced. Kevin Ginkel pitched 1 1/3, allowing two hits and two runs, and Ming took over, allowing one run the rest of the way.

Next up: Oklahoma State again on Saturday. It'll be Arizona's Bobby Dalbec against Thomas Hatch for the Cowboys.
