Arizona Wildcats heading back to College World Series
Arizona Wildcats Baseball
The Arizona Wildcats (44-21) are heading back to Omaha and the College World Series.
Freshman Cesar Salazar singles to right field and knocks in the game-winner in the bottom of the 11th inning as the Wildcats beat Mississippi State tonight in Starkville, Mississippi, to punch their ticket to Omaha.
Arizona bangs out 18 hits tonight and come back from a 5-1 deficit for the win. Bobby Dalbec hits a solo homer and Ryan Aguilar drills a three-run home run, but in the end it was Salazar with the game-winner.
Cameron Ming (3-2) pitches the final two innings for the Wildcats to pick up the win and the save. Nathan Bannister hurled the first six innings for Arizona. Zach Gibbons had four of the 18 hits for the Wildcats.
Way to go, Arizona!
