Diamondbacks return home after 7-3 road trip

Arizona Diamondbacks

The Arizona Diamondbacks return home to Chase Field after a successful 7-3 road trip.

Arizona (36-42) take four in Philadelphia, split two games with Toronto and then end up in Denver for a crazy four-game series as the Diamondbacks bang out 56 hits in the four games, but win only two from the Rockies.

The 56 hits is a new club record. The previous record was 53 and it happened twice against the Rockies.

It looked like Arizona was heading for an 8-2 road trip, but the Rockies pulled it out in the bottom of the 9th inning today for a 9-7 victory, thanks to a two-run walk-off homer by former Diamondback Mark Reynolds.

Arizona will play host to the Phillies in a three-game series. The first game is scheduled for Monday night as Robbie Ray (4-6) takes the mound for the Diamondbacks.
