Team Blue 5 Team White 1
Tucson Old Timers (TOTS)
60-and-over baseball
The temperature reached 106 degrees by the end of the game, but it didn't stop the 60-and-over Tucson Old Timers (TOTS) from taking the field this morning at Udall Park.
Team Blue won the game 5-1 over Team White as Lloyd Barzell went the distance (just six innings due to the heat) to pick up the win and he helped his own cause with a 3 for 4 day at the plate.
In a losing cause for Team White, it was Bill Mishler leading the way with two hits and he scored the only run for his team on a throwing error in the bottom of the fourth inning. Ron Carlson knocked in two of the five runs for Team Blue.
The TOTS will be back in action on Wednesday. It will be another hot one with the temperature expected to be near 106 again. The TOTS also play on Friday. A cold wave is expected as the temperature is expected to drop to an even 100 degrees.
Whew!
