Dalbec leads Wildcats to opening-round win in Super Regional

Bobby Dalbec allowed five hits in 8 2/3 innings, threw 129 pitches and hurled a shutout en route to a 1-0 victory over Mississippi State in the opening-round of the NCAA Super Regional tonight in Starkville, Mississippi.

Dalbec (10-4) was masterful as he kept Mississippi State off balance with an array of breaking ball pitches as he struck out nine batters. JJ Matijevic produced the only run of the game in the sixth inning with an RBI-double.

Way to go, Wildcats.

Arizona (43-21) is one win away from the College World Series.

The two teams will go at it tomorrow at 3 p.m.
