90-year-old knocks in winning run
Tucson Old Timers (TOTS)
60-and-over baseball
Floyd Lance, 90, knocked in the winning run as Team White beat Team Blue 7-6 today at Udall Park in a 60-and-over Tucson Old Timers baseball game.
Lance drilled a shot between third and short in the bottom of the fifth inning to break a 6-6 tie and score Bill Mishler from third base. Lance, the oldest active player for the TOTS, fouled off a couple of pitches from Team Blue starter Lloyd Barzell before turning on an inside fastball and blasted the ball by third-sacker Chico Bigham.
Barzell was saddled with the loss, while Tim Boyd picked up the win for Team White.
The TOTS will be back in action on Monday. Game time 9 a.m.
