Wildcats off to 5-2 start

The Arizona Wildcats 2020 baseball team will take a 5-2 record into this week's action at Hi Corbett Field against Central Michigan (Feb. 26, 28) and Rhode Island (Feb. 29 and March 1). All games have a 6 p.m. start, except Sunday's final game with Rhode Island, which gets underway at noon.

Arizona made it a three-game sweep of Albany (12-7, 15-0, 11-3) at home to start the season, dropped an outing at Tempe Diablo Stadium to Minnesota, 5-2, and won 2 of 3 in San Diego, California over the weekend -- losing 4-1 to Iowa and besting Southern Illinois, 6-5, and Nebraska, 3-2, at the Tony Gwynn Legacy tournament.

After seven games, Ryan Holgate leads Arizona in hitting with a .519 average (14 for 27). The Wildcats have already hit eight home runs -- two by Austin Wells, two by Blake Paugh and one each by Dayton Dooney, Mac Bingham, Branden Boissiere  and Holgate.
