Joe Opocensky and Tim Tolson combined for six hits and four RBI at Udall Park today as Team White edged Team Blue 5-3 in a 60-and-over Tucson Old Timers game.
Ernie Escala pitched well for Team Blue, but the middle of the Team White lineup of Opocensky and Tolson were tough outs for Escala, who was saddled with the hard-luck loss. Opocensky went the distance on the mound for Team White and picked up the pitching victory.
Team Blue had plenty of hits today, but just couldn't get the runs across. Bob Daliege, Ken Nebesny, Bill Mishler and Escala collected two hits apiece in a losing cause. Mishler, who went 2 for 2 and a walk, scored two of the three runs.
The TOTS will run into some cold weather on Wednesday and the regularly scheduled game at Udall has been cancelled. The next TOTS' game is scheduled for Friday at 10 a.m.
