Tolson, Steele top TOTS' hitters in January

Tim Tolson led the 60-and-over Tucson Old Timers in hits at Udall Park for the month of January  with 18, while Mike Steele finished second in hits with 16.  Tolson went 18 for 28 for the month and finished with a .643 batting average, while Steele went 16 for 31 for a .516 average.

Tolson knocked in the most runs (16) and scored the most runs (15).

Other top hitters for the month included Ron Ryan (11 for 17), Joe Opocensky (11 for 20), Ken Nebesny (11 for 28), Reed Palmer (10 for 23, 7 walks) and Roger Beebe (10 for 24). Opocensky and Brad Vermeer were the top pitchers for the month, both with identical 3-2 records.
