Arizona shoots just 25 percent from the field in loss to UCLA

Arizona Wildcats Basketball

The Arizona Wildcats made more free throws than field goals tonight at McKale Center.

A dismal 25.4 percent from the field as UCLA walked away with a 65-52 win over the Wildcats and  Arizona falls to 16-7 overall and 6-4 in the Pac-12 Conference. Arizona, down 29-28 at the end of the first half, continued to falter from the field in the second half, scoring just 24 points.

The Wildcats canned 16 of 18 free throws. Arizona made 15 field goals out of 59 attempts.

It's hard to find something positive to say about this one. The Wildcats should forget what happened at McKale tonight, regroup and come out firing on all cylinders next week as they go back on the road to face California and Stanford.

Zeke Nnaji battled his way to another double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. He was 2 for 8 from the field with most of his points coming from the foul line. Nico Mannion went 2 of 14, Josh Green 3 of 11, Stone Gettings 3 of 5 and Dylan Smith, the fifth Wildcat starter, was 0 for 7 from the field.

A heart-breaking loss!
