It's payback time

Arizona Wildcats Basketball

Arizona used another suffocating defense to dispose of the Oregon State Beavers at McKale Center tonight en route to a low-scoring 57-34 victory and win number 20 for the Wildcats.

It was payback time for the Wildcats, who lost earlier in the season to the Beavers in Corvallis.

The slow-down affair was a far cry from the 90-56 win over Oregon on Wednesday night at McKale.  Arizona (20-2, 8-1 Pac-12) had six players score in double figures in the lopsided win over the Ducks, but tonight only Brandon Ashley and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson found the double-digit mark as Ashley scored 12 points, hitting 5 of 9 from the field, while Jefferson ended up with 11 points, hitting 3 of 7 shots and 5 of 5 from the free throw line.

Arizona, the sixth-ranked team in the country, picks up its 34th consecutive win at McKale and held the visiting Beavers to 28 percent from the field as Oregon State canned just 14 of 49 shot attempts. Oregon State made just 3 of 15 from three-point land -- a dismal 20 percent.

The Wildcats finished the night at 40 percent from the field, canning 20 of 49 attempts. Defensively, it was T.J. McConnell (seven points, four rebounds, six assists) leading the way with eight of Arizona's 12 steals. Stanley Johnson grabbed a game-high nine rebounds to go along with eight points and two assists.

Way to go, Wildcats!
