TOTS donate socks, money to worthy cause

TOTS Senior Baseball Network

Socks for Soldiers

Spearheaded by member Ted Davis, the Tucson Old Timers baseball club donated 300 pairs of socks and $750 to the 96.1 KLPX Socks for Soldiers Fund. The donations were presented to representatives from the worthy fund-raising organization on Wednesday, Sept. 3, prior to the TOTS weekly scheduled game.

Every year the Tucson Old Timers (TOTS) baseball club donates socks to the Socks For Soldiers fund -- just one of the many projects the Tucson Area Marine MomS (TAMMS) are involved in through out the year.

Maria and the girls stopped by the TOTS field at Udall Park on Wednesday to collect an assortment of socks (and some cash, too). The girls were happy with the take this morning as they walked away with bundles and bundles of socks.

The TAMMS girls are always looking for more. So, for all you readers out there who would like to make some donations, contact them at http://www.tucsonareamarinemoms.com.

A note to the TOTS from Maria and the girls:

All we can say is WOW!!!  You guys completely floored us with the sock and cash donations!  All three of us moms were holding back the tears.  :)

TAMMS next box packing will be held Saturday, October 18th at Streams in the Desert Lutheran Church on Pima St.  Packing starts at 10:00 and ends around noon.  When it gets a little closer, let me know if you are planning on being there, and I'll give you more details.

Thank you again for supporting TAMMS through Socks for Soldiers.

Sincerely,

Marla

P.S. You gentlemen looked fabulous in your uniforms this morning!
