The Road to the 2023 World Series
The Diamondbacks are two wins away from punching a ticket to the 2023 MLB World Series.
The Texas Rangers forced a Game 7 in the ALCS with a 9-2 win over the Astros tonight in Houston.
Can the Arizona Diamondbacks do the same in the NLCS?
We'll find out Monday as Arizona sends Merrill Kelly to the mound, hoping to lead the Diamondbacks to a Game 6 win in Philadelphia.
Kelly, who finished 12-8 during the regular season, graduated from Desert Mountain High School in Scottsdale, Arizona. It has taken him a while to reach center stage. But he's there now and will take the ball Tuesday and toe the rubber in the biggest game of his life.
Kelly played college ball at Yavapai College in Prescott and Arizona State University in Tempe. He's a 6-2 right-hander, weighs 202 pounds, and has a lot of weight on his shoulders. He made his debut with the Diamondbacks on April Fool's Day, 2019. Merrill is now 35 years old.
Merrill, The Hill is yours. Your fans are behind you.
