Centerfielder Alek Thomas hit a solo shot in the fifth inning, and the Diamondbacks rallied with a four-run sixth for a come-from-behind 5-2 win over the Brewers tonight in Milwaukee to clinch the NL Wild Card round, two games to none.
Katel Marte highlighted the four-run sixth with a two-run single to chase Milwaukee starter Freddy Peralta, and the Brewers were forced to deal with Arizona's bullpen the rest of the way.
Arizona's ace, Zac Gallen, pitched six strong innings to earn the win before giving way to the bullpen.
Despite hitting a batter and giving up a double to Christian Yelich in the bottom of the ninth, Paul Sewald picked up the save.
Congrats, Diamondbacks!
