Marte's walk-off single lifts Diamondbacks to 2-1 win over Phillies

NLCS

Game 3 at Chase Field

Ketel Marte singled to centerfield with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the Diamondbacks to a 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies at Chase Field today as Arizona captures Game 3 of the National League Championship Series.

The game was a real pressure cooker from beginning to end, and it took the entire Diamondbacks' lineup to get the job done, including their young starter Brandon Pfaadt, who went 5.2 innings, allowing no runs on two hits with a career-high nine strikeouts.

Marte went 3 for 5 and stepped to the plate for the final time in the game to face the Phillies' closer Craig  Kimbrel. The D-backs second-baseman delivered, and Arizona is one win away from pulling even in the series at 2-2.

Tomorrow can't come soon enough for the Diamondbacks and their fans!

The ALDS…

Houston makes it two wins in a row with a 10-3 win over the Rangers in Texas tonight to even the series at 2-2.
