Diamondbacks lose in 10 innings to Rockies

Arizona Diamondbacks

Arizona had a chance to sweep the lowly Rockies at Chase Field today, but Colorado scored two runs in the top of the 10th inning and skipped town, winning the getaway game, 5-3. Reliever Oliver Perez (2-2) gives up a home run and a single and the D-backs let one get away.

The Diamondbacks fall to 51-67 and head out on a 10-game road trip, the first stop is Cleveland and a two-game set on Tuesday and Wednesday. This will be a brutal trip for Arizona as they begin to count the innings and what's left of a disastrous season.

The D-backs and the Rockies, the worst two teams in the NL West, are bringing up the minor league players to finish it off. Today's roster for both teams was a far cry from the everyday roster back in April. Jake Lamb, Xavier Paul, Jordan Pacheco, Alfredo Marte, Tuffy Gosewisch...the list goes on, maybe they'll find a diamond in the rough by the end of the season.
