The Kids Corner: Baseball Clowns

Bookemdanosports: The Kids Corner

In Billy's Victory, the grandfather of Billy Ray Reynolds, George Thomas, retired after a 30-year stint as a world-famous baseball clown to return home to be with and help his grandson recover from the loss of his father.

Today, of course, you see team mascots performing at the major league and minor league ballparks, but many years ago the baseball owners hired clowns to perform before, and during games, to get the hometown crowd fired up. Two of the more famous baseball clowns were Max Patkin and Al Schact.

Google them. Check it out and learn more about baseball in the old days...and the CLOWNS!

And remember Billy is available at amazon.com/kindlebooks
