TOTS Senior Baseball Network

60-and-over baseball

Mike Steele and Tim Tolson battered TOTS' pitching during the month of June.

Steele led the 60-and-over club with 27 hits. Steele played in 12 games and went 27 for 41 and a .659 batting average, while Tolson played in nine games during the month, but made the most out of every at bat as he went 23 for 31 -- a .742 batting average,  and he led the club with 30 RBI --  far outdistancing the next two players in that category, Chico Bigham with 18 runs-batted-in and Pigpen Price with 17.

Tolson led the club in doubles with nine and triples with two.

The amazing Floyd Lance, 88 years young, led the 80-and-over players with a .371 batting average. Lance, a first baseman and the oldest player on the club, banged out 13 hits in 35 trips to the plate. He also walked four times during the month and drove in 11 runs.

Lloyd Barzell led the TOTS in runs scored with 22, two more than Brian Reilly and Steele who both tied for second in that category with 20. Joe Aparicio led the club in walks with 12.
