D'backs take a break while Goldy, Montero head for all star game

The Arizona Diamondbacks lose 8-4 in San Francisco today and drop to 40-56 on the season. Paul Goldschmidt and Miguel Montero head for the 2014 MLB All Star Game in Minneapolis, while the rest of the team takes a breather.

Goldschmidt heads into the break with impressive numbers. Goldy has 110 hits, 36 doubles, one triple and 16 home runs and owns a .308 batting average. The Diamondbacks first baseman has scored 66 runs and has driven in 61 runs.

Montero, a late addition to the National League roster, is having a solid season. Besides handling things behind the plate, the Diamondbacks catcher has accumulated 80 hits -- including 14 doubles and 11 home runs to go along with 52 RBI, 32 runs scored while maintaining a .262 average.
