60-and-over baseball

Pistol Pete Peters allowed just one run and led Team Blue to a 6-1 win over Team White at Udall Park today in a Tucson Old Timers (TOTS) 60-and-over baseball game.

Team White was held to just seven hits -- two apiece by Dennis Crowley, Mike Taylor and Pigpen Price. Taylor returned from the disabled list this week and is a perfect 4 for 4 with two RBI in two games.

Peters walked two and struck out two in his six innings of work, while Bob Daliege went the distance for Team White and was saddled with the loss. Daliege coaxed eight batters to ground out during the game, but a four-run fifth inning by Team Blue sealed the win.

Chico Bigham and Mike Steele banged out three hits apiece to lead Team Blue.

With two games in the books this week, the TOTS will close out this week's schedule with a game on Friday.
