It's time for the Ducks to shine

Congrats to Stanford for its 20-14 Rose Bowl win yesterday over Wisconsin. That gives the Pac-12 a 3-4 record in bowl games. Oregon now steps in to represent the conference tomorrow night as the Ducks take on Kansas State at the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale. Come on Oregon, it's time for you to shine.

Stayed up to watch most of the Orange Bowl last night. As I expected, Florida State took care of underdog Northern Illinois, 31-10. Of course I watched with a special interest as I rooted for a college football player who was not on the field of play - our own Arizona Wildcat running back Ka'Deem Carey.

I'm sure Ka'Deem was watching as well as the Northern Illinois all-purpose quarterback Jordan Lynch needed 159 yards to overtake Carey as the nation's leading rusher. He was stymied by the Florida State defense and gained just 44 yards on the ground. Once again, Congrats to Mr. Carey.
