Wildcats still getting some respect in the AP Poll

The Arizona Wildcats, despite the home loss to UCLA last week, are still getting a little respect in the latest AP College Basketball Poll, which was released today. Arizona (17-2) drops to No. 8 in the poll behind Michigan (19-1), Kansas (18-1), Indiana (18-2), Florida (16-2), Duke (17-2), Syracuse (18-2) and Gonzaga (19-2). Butler (17-3) and Oregon (18-2) are ranked 9th and 10th, respectively.

Arizona, of course, beat Florida at McKale Center earlier in the season and the Oregon Ducks edged the Wildcats in Eugene by four points. Miami, a loser to Arizona in the semi finals of the Hawaii tournament, moved up to No. 14, after its huge win over Duke. San Diego State lost to Arizona at McKale earlier in the season, but find themselves at No. 22, thanks to the Aztecs' big win over New Mexico. UCLA, despite its win over Arizona, falls out of the top-25. The Bruins got the win over the Wildcats last Thursday, but got knocked off by Arizona State last Saturday.

Arizona heads for Washington this week to take on the Huskies on Thursday and the Cougars of Washington State on Saturday.
