Diamondbacks allow Padres to take charge at Chase

So far, the Arizona Diamondbacks have failed to light up Chase Field this week. Two straight losses to the visiting San Diego Padres the last two days have put the D'backs at 39-41. Today Arizona will go after its 40th win of the season as Ian Kennedy returns to the mound for the final game of the three-games series with the Padres. It's the halfway point of the season and the D'backs are still struggling. They turned to the youngster Trevor Bauer yesterday, but to no avail as the newest addition to the Diamondbacks pitching staff gave up seven runs early on in the 9-5 loss to the Padres, a team in a battle for last place in the NL West with the Colorado Rockies. Jason Kubel, Aaron Hill and Paul Goldschmidt made some noise yesterday, especially my main man Goldschmidt who recorded four hits to move his team-leading batting average to .308. That helps my fantasy team, anyway. Unfortunately, Goldy shares some time at first base with Lyle Overbay and gets too much time off, leaving me without his services once in a while and a chance for additional fantasy points.
