Daly, Watson make cut at British Open
John Daly and Tom Watson are in. Both golfers made the cut today at the British Open. Both golfers finished with a two-day total of 143, which calculates out to a 3-over-par -- the cut line or the magic number, if you will, for advancing to the weekend. Watson sank a birdie putt on the 18th hole to the delight of the crowd, while Daly cards a 32 on the front nine on Day 2, but limps in on the back nine with a 39 for a 71. It doesn't matter how they did it, the results are the same as both golfers can now prepare for an early Saturday morning on the golf course. Of course, the bad news is both players will tee it up tomorrow, 13 strokes off the pace set by Brandt Snedeker (130), 12 behind Adam Scott (131) and nine strokes behind Tiger Woods (134).
