Arizona Wildcats Football
Yes, it's another loss for our Arizona Wildcats football team.
But there is hope and plenty of it -- the Wildcats are now under Cruz control.
Gunner Cruz threw for 336 yards, completed 34 of 45 passes and a touchdown in his first start as a Wildcat. Yes, he made his share of mistakes in the 24-16 loss to BYU in Las Vegas last night. If you want to start the nitpicking, then there's plenty of blame to throw around. Of course, the 2021 Arizona Wildcats will need to improve in just about every facet of the game to break that barrier -- that ugly past barrier, which now includes 13 straight losses -- the longest losing streak in FBS college football.
Enough said.
I , for one, look forward to next Saturday and the Saturday after that.
These kids, this flock of players, will win and they will play hard and leave it all on the field, despite the losing streak -- of which 12 of the losses are not on them.
With a name like Gunner, how could you go wrong?
Staying with the puns. The Wildcats can stop fishing, they have found their man in Coach Jedd Fisch.
Yes, I know young sportswriters stay away from such puns -- such dribble. But I'm old school. I'm an old man and I have my own blog and a positive one at that.
So, I say: Go get 'em Arizona. Bear Down.
