Wildcats Trample Trojans

The seventh-ranked Arizona Wildcats shot 63 percent from the field in the first half, hitting 19 of 30 shots and continued to get the ball in the hoop in the second half en route to a 87-57 Pac-12 win over Southern Cal tonight at McKale Center.

Arizona led at the half 49-31, scored the first 12 points in the second half, enjoyed leads of 30 points and ended up with six players in double figures with Kaleb Tarczewski leading the way with 15 points and nine rebounds. Stanley Johnson chipped in 13, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson added 12, Brandon Ashley 11 and T. J. McConnell played just 19 minutes, scoring 10 points and dishing out seven assists.

In the second half, it was the return of reserve point-guard Parker Jackson-Cartwright, who spelled McConnell and canned 11 points, a career high.

USC was held to 31 percent from the field (18 of 57), while the Wildcats cooled off a bit in the second half and ended up hitting 47 percent from the field (31 of 65).

Arizona improves to 23-3 overall and 11-2 in Pac-12 play.
