Arizona takes 2 from Oakland

Arizona Wildcats Baseball

The Arizona Wildcats knocked off Oakland 10-7 on Tuesday and completed the two-game series at Hi Corbett Field today with a 13-0 blanking of the team from Michigan.

The two wins improved Arizona's non-conference slate to 8-2 as the Wildcats rebounded after losing two of three to 17th-ranked Rice last weekend.

In Tuesday's game, it was JJ Matijevec leading the way for the Wildcats. JJ went 3 for 4 and drove in two runs. In today's encounter, it was Riley Moore who provided much of the fireworks with a 4 for 5  performance, including three RBI.

Arizona leaves the comforts of home this weekend and heads for Starkville, Mississippi to play Samford and Mississippi State in a four-game set on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Wildcat note:  Scott Kingery leads the Wildcats in batting after 10 games. Kingery has collected 20 hits in 44 at bats for a .455 average and is tied with Moore for the RBI lead with 11.
