Daliege hurls gem

TOTS Senior Baseball Network

60-and-over baseball

Bob Daliege, 66, hurled seven strong innings at Udall Park today as Team Blue beat Team White 7-2 in a Tucson Old-Timers (TOTS) 60-and-over baseball game.

Daliege allowed just six hits enroute to the victory as he kept Team White's potent hitting attack at bay -- including their top two hitters, Lloyd Barzell and Peter Peters, who both are battling to break the club's single-season hit record of 228 hits, set in 2005 by Chico Bigham.

Barzell entered today's game with 222 hits, while Peters is right behind him with 214 hits. Both players went hitless against Daliege, who retired the side in order in four of the seven innings.

The TOTS return to action on Wednesday.
