Labor Day Game



Call it a labour of love for a bunch of old-timers or simply put: a Labor Day baseball game by eighteen ball players who do what they normally do whether the Monday falls on a holiday or not.

Like clockwork, the local boys of summer, better known as the 60-and over Tucson Old Timers, took the field at Udall Park this morning and played in honor of the nation's workforce with a spirited 10-7 nail biter, won by Team Blue over Team White.

Today's catchers: Team Blue's Bob Daliege (1 for 3 , 1R and a walk) and Team White's Chuck Sabalos (1 for 3, 1R….and a double!

Catches of the Day: 2 running putouts by Team Blue's left fielder Mike Steele (1 for 4 at the plate).

Hats off to scorekeeper Mal Zwolinski and field umpire Jerry Hamelin.






The TOTS are off and running in September...eight months in the books in 2022, closing in on completing the organization's 54th season.
