NFL: first week of action ends tonight in Seattle

National Football League

2022 Season

We are off and running in the National Football League as the first week of the NFL season ends tonight in Seattle when the Seahawks entertain the Denver Broncos. The big story line: the return of Russell Wilson to Seattle -- only this time as the opposing quarterback.

Games in Week 1 includes some real eye openers: Bills over the Rams (31-10); Eagles over the Lions (38-35); Bears over the 49ers (19-10); Steelers edging the Bengals (23-20); Dolphins over the Patriots (20-7); Browns over the Panthers (26-24) and the Colts in a tie 20-20 with the Texans.

And, of course, the list goes on: Saints over the Falcons (27-26); Ravens over the Jets (24-9); Commanders over the Jaguars (28-22); Vikings over the Packers (23-7); Giants edging Titans (21-20); Chargers over the Raiders (24-19); Chiefs roll over the Cardinals (44-21) and Tom Brady and the Buccaneers knock off the Cowboys (19-3).

Update: Late night's final (9-12-22) Seattle 17  Denver 16...Broncos miss a 64-yard field goal try by Brandon Macmanus with just seconds remaining
