Arizona closes out Pac 12 schedule, takes 2 of 3 at Oregon State

 Arizona Wildcats Baseball

The seventh-ranked Arizona Wildcats can now focus on the road to Omaha.

The Wildcats took 2 of 3 in Corvallis this weekend -- including a 6-5 come-from-behind win today to beat the Oregon State Beavers and capture their final Pac-12 series' win of the year to improve to 38-14 overall and 21-9 in conference play.

Arizona broke a 5-5 tie with a run in the top of the ninth inning today, thanks to an RBI-single from shortstop Nik McClaughry and reliever Vince Vannelle (4-2) blanked the Beavers in the eighth and the bottom of the ninth. Donta Williams went 4 for 5 and knocked in two runs, while McClaughry went 2 for  4 and drove in two runs.

The Wildcats return home and finish the regular season at Hi Corbett Field on Thursday, Friday and Saturday against Dixie State.

And then it's time for the postseason. The goal for the Wildcats: Be one of the eight teams to advance to the College World Series in Omaha.
