Aces continue their winning ways with 8-7 win over Old Pueblo

Tucson Aces

60-and-over baseball

The 60-and-over Tucson Aces continued their winning ways at Santa Rita Park today with a 8-7 win over the Old Pueblo Club. The Aces jumped out to a 8-0 lead after two innings of play and sat back and let the Old Pueblo Club makes things interesting down the stretch.

Mike Dawson went the distance for the Aces and picked up the win and was helped out by four assists from outfielders Ken Nebesny and Reed Palmer as the Aces won their third game in a row.

"Reed played centerfield and threw out two runners at second base and Ken turned two hard hit ground balls in right field into outs at first base," Dawson said.

Dawson said the Aces hit the ball well, especially in the first couple of innings.

Palmer ended up with three hits on the day to lead the Aces. Catcher Mike Steele injured his left forearm when Old Pueblo's Bobby Long swung and missed a pitch. The bat banged off Mike's arm, leaving a nice little gash in the process.

Way to go, Aces!
