Mishler goes 4 for 5

Tucson Old Timers (TOTS)

60-and-over baseball

Team White beat Team Blue 8-4 today at Udall Park. It was a tough week for the 60-and-over Tucson Old Timers as they play on, while mourning the loss of their teammate Chico Bigham, 79, who passed away on Tuesday.

Today, Reed Palmer collected three hits and Mike Steele banged out two key hits as Team White tripped up Team Blue, despite a 4 for 5 day from Bill Mishler.

As for Mishler, a TOT since 2015, he says it was one of his best days at the plate. "I remember years ago actually going 12 for 12 at one point, but it has been a while since I've had four hits in a game."

Lefty Dennis Crowley picked up the pitching victory for Team White, while Bob Daliege hurled a complete game as well and was saddled with the loss.

The catch of the day: A running catch in center field by Team White's Roger Beebe to help snuff out a Team Blue rally.

The TOTS will return to action on Monday at Udall. Game time: 9 a.m.
