John Mathews at MSBL World Series
Men's Senior Baseball League World Series
60-and-over Central Division
Update on John Mathews, member of the 60-and-over Tucson Old Timers, playing in his first MSBL World Series
John Mathews rode the pine for most of the first game of a doubleheader today. But in Game 2 at the Salt River Complex in Scottsdale, John finally got his at bats. John went 2 for 4 -- including a double and drove in two runs as the Paladins from Albuquerque beat the Puget Sound Mariners, 11-6.
The Paladins lost the first game of the doubleheader 13-5 to the Dragons as Big John squirmed on the bench. He finally got his chance in Game 2 and should see plenty of action the rest of the week as the Palidans play six round-robin games.
