Wildcats dump Cougars, 79-62

Arizona Wildcats Basketball

Allonzo Trier scored 17 points and dished out seven assists, while Lauri Markkanen picked up another double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds as 7th-ranked Arizona knocks off Washington State 79-62 tonight at McKale Center.

Arizona improves to 19-2 and 8-0 in the Pac-12 Conference. It was the Wildcats 13th win in a row and a victory on Sunday over Washington will probably push Arizona further up the national rankings as Villanova, Kansas, Kentucky and Florida State, all teams ahead of the Wildcats last week in the polls,  have all lost this week.

The Wildcats toyed with the Cougars tonight and the game was close until late in the second half. Arizona led 56-53 with 8:45 left in the game, but outscored the Cougars 23-9 down the stretch.

Dusan Ristic chipped in 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds, while Rawle Alkins also finished in double figures with 12.

Way to go, Wildcats!
