Wildcats one win away from Super Regional


Arizona Wildcats Softball


The University of Arizona women's softball team is in a good spot at the Tucson Regional.

The Wildcats beat Minnesota 5-1 yesterday to go 2-0 in the regional and will take on Minnesota, a 2-0 winner over New Mexico State last night, at 4 p.m. on Sunday. The Gophers will have to beat the Wildcats twice to move on to the super regional.

Katiyana Mauga hit her 26th home run of the season to help the Wildcats beat the Gophers. Trish Parks went the distance on the mound and improved to 15-5.

Arizona is 40-17 on the season, while Minnesota heads into play today with a 48-10 record.
