Diamondbacks on a three-game winning streak

Arizona Diamondbacks

The Arizona Diamondbacks, behind homers by Mark Trumbo and Paul Goldschmidt, rough up the Padres 11-0 at Chase Field last night in the opener of a four-game series.

At the end of the day on Sunday, the Diamondbacks (13-14) just may find themselves above the .500 mark and could leapfrog into second place in the NL West.

The Diamondbacks have won three in a row and if (and it's always a big if for Arizona) they sweep the Padres, a team that's on the down swing, they'd post 16 wins in 30 outings to start the season.

Chip Hale, the new manager with the Diamondbacks, would certainly be happy with such an outcome. And so would the Arizona fans.
