The 2022 MLB World Series
Game 5
Houston 3 Philadelphia 2
Justin Verlander pitched five tough innings and finally got a World Series win as Houston won Game 5 Thursday in Philadelphia, 3-2. It's back to Houston for Game 6 and Game 7 if necessary.
An outstanding World Series so far.
Verlander took the mound last night owning a 0-6 record in postseason play with a 6.07 ERA, but battled through the Philly lineup, giving up only a first-inning homer to Kyle Schwarber. Shortstop Jeremy Pena went 3 for 4, including a solo home run, and drove in two runs for the Astros.
Friday is a day off as both teams take a breather. Saturday, the fun begins again.
