Arizona blows by century mark in season opener over Nicholls State

Arizona (1-0) set the single-game shooting percentage record and the school record for the most points in a season opener with a 117-75 win over Nicholls State (0-1) tonight at McKale Center.

The Wildcats shot 71.7 percent from the field (38 of 53) and made 11 of 18 3-pointers (61.1 percent), with Azuolas Tubelis leading the offense with 23 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. At the same time, three players -- Oumar Ballo (18), Pelle Larsson (16), and Adama Bal (14) reached double figures.

Larsson hauled in 10 rebounds for a double-double.

Arizona led 59-37 at the half and outscored Nicholls State by 20 points in the second half.
