Tolson's 2-run single in 6th leads Team Blue to 5-3 win

Tucson Old Timers (TOTS)

60-and-over baseball

Thunder Tim Tolson broke a 3-3 tie with a 2-run opposite field single down the left field line in the top of the sixth inning to lead Team Blue to a 5-3 win over Team White at Udall Park this morning.

Mike Dawson went the distance for Team Blue to pick up the pitching victory, while Pete Maldonado pitched well but was saddled with the loss.

Team White came to bat in the bottom of the seventh inning in hopes of tying the game or picking up the win, but Team Blue right fielder Ted Davis ran down a hard hit ball off the bat of Doc Thompson for the first out and Team White went quietly when Pigpen Price's pop up was caught by Dawson for the final out of the game.

The TOTS return to action at Udall on Wednesday. Game time: 9 a.m.
